On Location with Clementine

This beautiful working dog was one of my favourite subjects to date. Absolutely stunning and statuesque, her colours made for some elegant photographs.

Clementine’s shoot was part of a collaboration I did with the Equine Enquiries gang, as part of their workshop offer. We headed a bit further out than my usual shooting locations, to Elvaston Castle in Derbyshire. The Castle is set in beautiful landscaped gardens and gave us some cracking backdrops to work with. Her owner Elle-Mae Robinson had scouted the location beforehand and put together a moodboard of the shots she was hoping we could get, which we did.

Spaniels can make energetic models, but Clementine was extremely good on her stays (this isn’t a prerequisite for a dog photoshoot by the way - I’ work with dogs of all temperaments!) All through the shoot she was itching to get in the water so towards the end of the session we let her go for a swim and these are some of my favourite photos from the day.

If you would like to collaborate with A Northern Heart on a dog or equine project, get in touch and let’s see what we can create together.
