A Walk in…The Hollies

This gem nestled off Weetwood Lane in Meanwood, Leeds, is a haven for nature lovers, runners and dog walkers.

Nestled within Leeds, The Hollies is a picturesque haven well worth a visit. This idyllic green space, with its lush landscapes and tranquil ambiance, offers a really peaceful escape, providing a breath of fresh air for both humans and furry companions.

The Hollies has a diverse array of flora, including huge majestic trees, vibrant shrubs, and blooming flowers, creating a visually stunning backdrop for leisurely strolls. The well-maintained pathways wind through the park, offering a serene environment for dog walkers to explore. The gentle rustle of leaves and the occasional birdsong create a soothing soundtrack for those seeking respite from everyday hustle and bustle. I particularly love it in autumn, but its a great walk at any time of year.

One of the key attractions for dog walkers at The Hollies is the expansive green spaces that provide plenty of room for dogs to roam and play. There are also well-placed benches and shaded areas, and everyone we meet there is always friendly.

A bonus is the park's amenities; plenty of bins and off-lead areas, so no carrying your poo bags for hours on end!

The Hollies is a cracking place to let your dog dog revel in the joys of outdoor exploration while you appreciate the therapeutic benefits of nature. It is steep in places, so decent footwear is a good idea.

This is a great place for a dog photoshoot and I’ve added it to my list of Leeds shooting locations.

How to get there:

After taking the small sign posted lane off Weetwood Lane into the park grounds you will find the car park on your left (do not go right, this is for residential properties).

Postcode for the carpark: LS16 5NZ (Google Map Link).
